Abstract
The process of a new powder chemical coating (replacement reaction method) to produce nickel-coated SiC particulates has been studied and two kinds of coating process and coating result were also analyzed, the physical and mechanical properties of different materials were compared. The results show that the strength of 10% SiC(Ni)/Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) composites is 62.15% and 2.82% higher than that of the matrix Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) alloy and 10% SiCp/Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) composites in ambient temperature, and 55.3% and 28.6% higher in 400 °C respectively.
