Abstract
The process of a new powder chemical coating used for producing nickel-coated SiC particulates was studied. Nickel coatings were very smooth and well-knit; Two kinds of coating process and coating results were also analysed. The results show that the strengths of 10wt%SiC(Ni)/Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) composites are 62.15% and 2.82% more than those of 10%SiCp/Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) composites and the matrix Al-Fe-V-Si(0812) alloy in ambient temperature respectively. The strenghts of the former at 400°C are increased by 55.3% and 28.6% compared with those of the two later respectively.
