Abstract

We demonstrate the first observation of the cross-Kerr nonlinearity induced by a single-photon-level coherent optical pulse in a photonic crystal fiber. Taking advantage of large nonlinearity and managed dispersion of the optical fibeR. we have successfully measured very small (10'') conditional phase shifts.
