Abstract

The twinjets injected to the supersonic flow were measured with PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) and several flow visualization methods. The influences of the angle of the jets and the interval of the injection holes on the flow fields were investigated to clarify the effect of the interaction between the twinjets. Three-dimensional velocity data near the injection holes were successfully obtained. And corrections based on the Stokes drag coefficient were conducted to these velocity data to check the influence of the lag of the tracer particles. Three-dimensional streamwise vortices produced by twinjets were visualized. The strengths of these vortices were evaluated for each case. The strengths of the streamwise vortices between the twinjets increased as the angle of the injection lowered and the interval of the injection holes widened.
