Abstract

We describe the precise distributed measurement of mode-coupling along a cabled 60 km-long 4-core fiber (4CF) for submarine transmission using a multi-channel OTDR. The crosstalk values in the fan-in/out devices and 4CF were evaluated separately with a dynamic range of as high as 85 dB.
