Abstract

The magnetic properties of magnetic substrates of Ni-alloy at 77 K are measured using a miniature single sheet tester (SST) in liquid nitrogen (LN2) and they are compared with those at room temperature. Moreover, the AC transport current loss of HTS coated conductor is analyzed using FEM taking account of both the nonlinear E-J characteristics and the nonlinear magnetic property of the substrate at 77 K. The numerical results of AC transport current loss are compared with measurement results. Iron loss in the magnetic substrate and AC transport current loss in the superconducting layer are calculated, respectively.
