Abstract

Experimental and theoretical studies were made of carbon dioxide injected into water. A mathematical model for the mass transfer is proposed under the assumption that mass-transfer coefficients for bubbles and the free surface is given by Higbie's penetration theory. The model consists of equations for the continuity of solute with constant effective diffusivity and equations for the flow field.
