Abstract
The magnetostriction of dilute Fe-Co alloys has been measured in the temperature range from RT to 600°C. The magnetostriction constants λα21, λα22, λγ2 and λε{lunate}2 at room temperature are about 78, -134, 55, -234x10-6 f or hcp Co-1.2 at % Fe-Co alloys and 28, -58, 55-30, -51x10-6 for dhcp 1.3-4 at % Fe-Co alloys. Large thermal hysteresis was found for 1.05 at % Fe-Co in λ-T curves except for λγ2, accompanying the hcp ⌉ dhcp phase transformation.
