Abstract
Simulations of the switching of magnetization using only the field from a spin torque oscillator (STO) are presented. Single phase and exchange coupled composite (ECC) grains were used and the switching probability calculated as a function of the STO position, frequency, and the magnetic properties of the grains. The results show that ECC grains can be reliably switched by an STO for a wide range of STO positions and frequencies.
