Magnetic properties of UxFe1-xNy amorphous alloys

Abstract

We study the magnetic and electric properties of the U-Fe and U-Fe-N amorphous alloys produced by sputtering. The ferromagnetic correlation is enhanced in the U-Fe-N amorphous alloys. A large coercive force and negative temperature coefficient of resistivity (TCR) observed in the uranium-rich U-Fe-N amorphous alloy indicate the existence of the random anisotropy originated from the localized component of the 5f electrons.
