Abstract

Magnetic properties of nanoscale wire and dot systems were studied. The samples were prepared on thermally oxidized silicon substrates using electron beam lithography and lift-off processes. The structures of nano-patterns were controlled by changing the size and shape and domain wall resistance was measured using nano-contacts between nano-wires. Results demonstrated the control of magnetic domain formation and domain wall movement in magnetic nano-wires and detection of magnetization reversal of magnetic vortex core in magnetic nano-dots.
