Abstract
Amorphous alloy of Nd2-Al can be prepared by hydrogenation. Its magnetic properties were investigated from 4.2 to 290 K and were compared with those of the corresponding original compound and amorphous alloy prepared by liquid quenching. The short-range unit NdH2 in hydrogen-induced amorphous Nd2AlH5.4 plays a key role in magnetism.
