Abstract

MAGNETOCRYSTALLINE ANISOTROPY AND MAGNETOSTRICTION WERE MEASURED FOR THE SINGLE CRYSTALS OF FE-SI-AL ALLOYS LYING NEAR THE SENDUST COMPOSITION (85PFE, 9. 6PSI, 5. 4PAL). THE CONSTANTS K//1, ″MU″ //1//0//0, ″LAMBDA″ //1//1//1 AND ″LAMBDA″ //S ARE PLOTTED IN THE CONCENTRATION DIAGRAM OF THE FE-SI-AL SYSTEM. IT WAS FOUND THAT K//1 = 0 IS REALIZED IN THE REGIONOF 5. 5PAL, 7. 5 ″APPROXIMATELY EQUALS″ 10PSI, 84. 5 ″APPROXIMATELY EQUALS″ 87PFE. CORRELATIONS AMONG THESE CONSTANTS AND INITIAL OR MAXIMUM PERMEABILITY, ″MU″ //I OR ″MU″ //M, ARE DISCUSSED. BOTH ″MU″ //I AND ″MU″ //M MEASURED FOR TWO PICTURE-FRAME SINGLE CRYSTALS, CONTAINING 9. 6PSI AND 5. 8PAL, DECREASED RAPIDLY WITH INCREASING TEMPERATURE.
