Abstract

Fe//3 Al alloys with a relatively stable dual-phase range ( alpha plus B2 and alpha plus DO//3 ) were produced and the magnetic properties studied, to determine the effect of alpha phases on Sendust soft magnetic properties. The crystal magnetic anisotropy constant K//1 was found to change for different phase combinations; its absolute value was smaller for alloys with alpha plus DO//3 than for alpha plus B2. Electron micrographs showed mazelike structures in the dual-phase material.
