Measurements of the magnetic susceptibility, magnetization and electrical resistivity are reported for YbRhSn and YbIrSn. For both compounds the magnetic susceptibility shows the Curie-Weiss behavior with a trivalent Yb ion and the electrical resistivity indicates metallic behavior. For YbIrSn antiferromagnetic order was found below TN = 3.2 K. For YbRhSn the rapid decrease of the electrical resistivity below 1.8 K indicates magnetic order. For both compounds the magnetization at 2 K increases monotonously with increasing magnetic field up to 50 kOe.
