Abstract
The saturation magnetic moment M s and the Curie temperature T C of the half-metal-type Co 2CrGa Heusler alloy were analyzed. It was observed that the value of M s at 4.2 K for the L2 1-type Co 2CrGa alloy is 3.01 μ B/f.u. It was shown that the T C and the phase-transformation temperature T t from the L2 1 to B2-type structure are 495 and 1050 K, respectively. It was found that the band calculations disclose that the spin polarization is also relatively high in the B2-type structure, although its estimated T C is about 100 K lower than that of the L2 1-type structure.
