Magnetic circular dichroism of lanthanoid Lβ2,15 fluorescence spectra of magnetic lanthanoid compounds

Abstract

The magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) data of the fluorescence spectra, including the resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) associated with the Gd Lβ2,15 fluorescence line of the ferrimagnetic Gd-Co compound, are presented. The dependence of the MCD spectra of the RIXS on the incident X-ray energy shows an almost two-fold enhancement of the magnetic effects when it approaches the exact Gd LIII absorption edge. The MCD spectra of the La, Sm and Gd Lβ2,15 fluorescence lines of La2Co14B, Sm2Co14B and Gd2Co14B are also reported.
