Magnetic aspects of the T′ phase in the Nd2-xCexCuO4-† system

High resolution powder neutron diffraction has been used to study the magnetic Bragg scattering in the T′ phases. The magnetic structure of the parent compound Nd2CuO4 has been solved at 1.6K. We also describe the contrasting properties of the Néel states in the T′ and O phases upon electron- and hole-doping and present a qualitative explanation of this effect.
