Abstract
The value of uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant KU in the L10)-type Fe48Pd52 single crystal is 2. 5 × 107 erg cm-3 at 4.2 K. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy decreases with increasing temperature. The temperature dependence of KU is described by the l(l + 1) power law for a uniaxial system. The longitudinal magnetostrictions in the L10 phase are anisotropic. The value of λ∥a along the a-axis in the L10 phase is about 100 × 10-6 and larger than that of λ ∥100 along the 〈0 0 1〉 direction in the disordered phase and also λ∥c along the c-axis in the L10 phase.
