N2 - Measurements of low-temperature thermal and transport properties of CePtSi are reported. Particularly puzzling is the observation of a strong increase in the specific heat with decreasing temperature below 0.4 K, compatible with a large hyperfine magnetic field at the Pt sites. No features indicating a cooperative phase transition at elevated temperatures are observed to justify such an assumption.
