Limiting performance of YBCO high-frequency Josephson devices

Abstract

Intrinsic noise temperature(TN) and upper frequency limit for YBCO Josephson devices on bicrystal substrates have been studied. It was demonstrated that TN could be obtained as low as their physical temperature (TP) in the range from 4.2K to 77K. Also, it was found that the devices could operate well into the terahertz range.
