Abstract

Abstract— The aim of the study is to clarify the mechanism of light adaptation of dark‐adapted bacteriorhodopsin. Double‐pulse experiment was carried out at room temperature in aqueous suspension of dark‐ and light‐adapted fragments of the purple membranes for different excitation laser light intensities. It is demonstrated that the route of light adaptation of the dark‐adapted bacteriorhodopsin depends on laser light intensity used.
