Lattice parameters of α-(h8-ET)2NH4Hg(SCN)4 and α-(h8-ET)2ND4Hg(SCN)4

Abstract

We have measured the temperature dependence of lattice parameters of the title salts from 300 down to 11 K by a four circle X-ray diffractometer. It is confirmed that the ND4Hg(SCN)4 salt shows essentially the same anisotropic contraction of the c/a with the NH4Hg(SCN)4 salt. The deuteration enhances the c/a ratio by 0.3% at low temperatures.
