Abstract
Two methods for large scale handwritten character recognition were developed, namely the Combination method (CM) and the Uniform Division Method (UDM). The Combination Method constructs the subspace from several groups, including different number of samples divided from the whole training samples, thus, the CM has 97.76 % recognition rate. The Uniformly Distributed method, on the other hand, uses the uniformly divided training samples, thus, it has a 98.64% recognition rate.
