Abstract

We demonstrate a substantial increase in PMD tolerance in ultrahigh-speed singlecarrier polarization-multiplexed transmission using optical Nyquist pulses. A low-penalty 1.28 Tbit/s/ch transmission was successfully achieved over 525 km with a 640 Gbaud optical Nyquist pulse.
