Large coercivity and granular structure of CoPt/SiO2 films

Abstract

By post-annealing the as-prepared CoPt/SiO3 samples with the atomic ratio of Co : Pt = 47.5 : 52.5, high coercivity H, ≈14 kOe was obtained at room temperature. TEM and XRD revealed the ordered fct (L1n) structure with the lattice constant ratio cO.97 in the granular films with the average grain size around 10-20 nm. The grain size and packing density effect on coercivity are also discussed,.
