Large-aperture Ce3+:LiCaAlF6 power-amplifier module for the terawatt-class ultraviolet solid-state laser system

Abstract

Large-aperture Ce3+:LiCaAlF6 power-amplifier module for the terawatt-class ultraviolet solid-state laser system was presented. For pumping the power-amplifier module, four beams of 266 nm, pulses from 10 Hz, Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers were prepared with total excitation energy of 0.38 J. Results showed that 98-mJ output and 25% extraction efficiency was achieved.
