Abstract
The mechanism of fuel NO formation was investigated using pyridine as a model compound of fuel nitrogen. The effects of oxygen and H2O concentrations on the reaction mechanism was studied. Oxygen concentration had little effect on the reaction mechanism. NO formation decreased with increased H2O concentration. NO was mainly formed by the NCO + O reaction, which was important in NO formation. At high H2O concentration, many O radicals were consumed by the O + H2O reaction.
