Abstract
The joint use of frequency-domain equalization and antenna diversity is presented for single-carrier (SC) transmission in a frequency-selective fading channel. Frequency-domain equalization techniques using minimum mean square error (MMSE), orthogonal restoration combining (ORC) and maximum ratio combining (MRC), those used in multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA), are considered. As antenna diversity techniques, receive diversity and delay transmit diversity (DID) are considered. Bit error rate (BER) performance achievable with the joint use of frequency-domain equalization and antenna diversity is evaluated by computer simulation.
