Abstract

Jitter-like noise cancellation using autoregressive (AR) model of PR channel in perpendicular magnetic recording was presented. A 16/17 (0,6/6) coded PR2ML system was employed and the Viterbi detector with 4 states for PR2ML system was used. Results showed signal to noise ratio (SNR) improvement of about 2.4 dB at the bit error rate of 10-4.
