Abstract
Crystal structure and the phase transformation behavior of perovskite-type BaTiO3 and BaTiO3 ceramics with nanosized particulate SiC were investigated by simultaneous measurements of internal friction and shear modulus. The Curie temperature (Tc) gradually decreased with increasing particulate SiC content. In addition, the low-temperature transformation disappeared at SiC content over 1 vol%. Diffused phase transformation (DPT) was observed as the SiC content increased up to 3 vol%.
