Intrinsic pure single-photon source and its nonclassical interference with weak coherent photons

Abstract

We report the generation of pure single-photon state in the process of spontaneous parametric down-conversion with extended phase-matching condition. The measured joint spectral distribution of the photon pairs shows a high purity of the state we prepared. A visibility of 89.4± 0.5% was achieved without any spectral filtering in a nonclassical Hong-Ou-Mandel interference between pure heralded single photons and weak coherent photons.
