Intermolecular interaction of complexes with anti-formed metal octaethylporphyrins and C60

Abstract

A new cocrystalline that contains C60 and the anti-formed metal of complex of octaethylporphyrin (OEP) is reported. The structure of nickel octaethylporphyrin in 2NiII(OEP)·C60·2C6 H5Cl is the anti-formed configuration, with the four ethyl groups of the nickel octaethylporphyrin portions lying on either the same and the opposite sides of the porphyrin plane toward the C60. The fullerene is unusually located in the closest approach to the nickel atom, involving 5:6 carbon ring junction of C60. The intermolecular interactions of complexes with the anti-formed metal octaethylporphyrins in the cocrystallines containing C60 are described.
