Interlayer exchange coupling of Fe across CuAu alloys

Abstract

We have investigated the interlayer exchange coupling of Fe across CuxAu1-x alloys (0 ≤ x ≤ 1). The coupling strength decreases remarkably with alloying. The long period of the oscillation of the coupling decreases with increasing x, while the short period is almost independent of x. The effect of the order-disorder transformation on the coupling is also discussed.
