Abstract

A nonlinear wave-current model is developed to obtain the velocity and shear stress. The model employing and empirical velocity deviation which introduces the modification of the time-mean velocity caused by waves is proposed. With an application of a time-invariant linear eddy viscosity and making use of the truncated Fourier series, a boundary value problem is formulated and is solved numerically. Comparisons among many cases of measured and predicted results show reasonable agreement.
