N2 - The evolution of the crystal structure parameters and the magnetic behavior in the UCoAl1-xSnx and UCoAl1-xInx solid solutions was studied. The substitutions of Sn and In for Al in UCoAl lead to a rapid destabilization of metamagnetic phenomena and the appearance of ferromagnetism already for small amounts of substitutions (x ≈ 0.02). The Curie temperature (TC) and the spontaneous magnetization (Ms) in the UCoAl1-xInx compounds increase monotonously with x over the entire solubility range 0c and Ms, both showing a minimum with x at approximately 0.20-0.25. For higher Sn content, the material becomes magnetically hard showing a rectangular hysteresis loop, Hcreaching 1 T in UCoSn. The role of the Al, Ga, In and Sn p-electron states in the electronic structure and the evolution of 5f-electron magnetism is discussed.
