Influence of pressure on itinerant electron metamagnetic transition in La(FexSi1-x)13 compounds

Abstract

The influence of pressure on the itinerant electron metamagnetic transition (IEM) transition was investigated for a La(FexSi1-x)13 compound. The critical temperature defined as the disappearance point of the IEM transition decreased with increasing hydrostatic pressure. The results show that on decreasing the Curie temperature, by applying hydrostatic pressure, increases the magnitude of the discontinuous change in the magnetization.
