Abstract

IR spectroscopic change of Pt/TiO2 photocatalyst in a reactive gas mixture under UV irradiation has been investigated by the polarization modulation method. The reduction rate of the oxide increased under irradiation of light shorter than 380 nm in wavelength. The methoxy intermediate was detected on the catalyst in methanol-water mixed gas.
