In situ Mn 2p-3d resonant photoemission study on la0.6Sr 0.4MnO3 epitaxial thin films grown by laser MBE

Abstract

We have performed an in situ resonant photoemission (RPES) study on well-ordered surfaces of La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 thin films grown by laser molecular beam epitaxy. In sharp contrast with the previous photoemission results, the RPES spectra exhibit clear evidence of a Fermi cutoff. This result suggests that the importance of in situ photoemission measurement on well-ordered surfaces of transition metal oxides for revealing their intrinsic electronic structures.
