Abstract
An in-field annealing-quenching furnace utilized for magnets with a 52 mm experimental bore was developed. The cooling rate from 663 to 473 K was 38 K/s under a magnetic field of 19 T. The phase boundary between the ferromagnetic MnBi and the paramagnetic Mn1.08Bi was examined using this furnace. The phase boundary was confirmed around 663 K. It was found that the MnBi grain became elongated during recrystallization under 19 T.
