Abstract
The γ-ray transitions in λ16O from the 6.6 meV excited 12- state to both ground state spin-doublet members and λN tensor interaction were analyzed. It was observed that the ground state doublet spacing provides a small but nonzero strength of the tensor interaction between a λ and a nucleon. The 1 2- energy level was measured to be about 6561.7∓1.1∓1.7 keV, and a small spacing for the ground-state doublet of 26.4∓1.6∓0.5 keV. The results show that the spacing determines a small but nonzero strength for the λN tensor interaction.
