Abstract

Needle-like barium sulphate was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using BA(II)-EDTA complex precursor.The effect of experimental conditions such as temperature, solution pH, and the [sulphate ion]/[EDTA] molar ratio on the morphology of barium sulphate was investigated. Crystalline phase identification was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) using nickel filtered radiation.
