Abstract
A RuSr2(Eu1.5Ce0.5)Cu2O 10-δ (Ru-1222) sintered target was laser ablated into thin films on SrTiO3 (001) substrates at temperatures between room temperature and 800°C. Although the as-deposited films did not exhibit Ru-1222 phase, the films deposited at temperatures between 600 and 780°C were successfully crystallized and exhibited highly c-axis oriented Ru-1222 phase by the subsequent thermal treatment under appropriate conditions. The films grown at 740°C and annealed at 1060°C in 1 atm oxygen flow for 1 h showed a weak ferromagnetic behavior below 130 K and the onset of superconducting transition at 32.4 K. The coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity was observed at temperatures below 32.4 K.
