Abstract

Partially disordered atomic arrangements in Au-Mn alloys with about 20 at. % Mn have been investigated. Mn atom columns parallel to the incident beam appear as bright dots and brightness is roughly proportional to the substitution fraction of Au atoms for Mn atoms. A modulated structure with concentration fluctuation is visualized with image processing.
