Abstract

High mobility of surface atoms and induced uniaxial anisotropy in very thin permalloy films were investigated. The temperature dependence of Ku in very thin permalloy films was measured to examine surface effect on induced uniaxial anisotropy. The change in Hk was measured as a function of temperature, with applying dc magnetic field parallel to the hard axis of magnetization.
