Abstract
The amorphous SmCu6 alloy produced by sputter-deposition reveals a heavy fermion character: the electronic specific heat coefficient is about 0.3 J mol-1K-2. Broad peaks at around 3.8 K in the specific heat and magnetic susceptibility (χ), and the hysteresis in the χ between zero-field-cooled and field-cooled specimens demonstrate a spin-glass ordering at low temperatures.
