Growth of thin film crystals of monochloro(meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato) gallium by organic MBE

Abstract

Single crystals of monochloro(meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato) gallium (GaTPPrCl) have been successfully grown on the (001) surface of a KBr substrate. The crystal structure is determined to be body-centered tetragonal (BCT) with lattice parameters of a=b=13.4 Å and c=9.88 Å by means of electron transmission microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. This is in very good agreement with its bulk single crystal structure. The features of the epitaxial growth are discussed.
