GIS data based optimization of tank model

Abstract

Relationship was investigated between optimized coefficients of the tank model and basin characteristics detected from GIS data. As a result, many coefficients were correlated to basin area, topography, geology, and land use. The coefficients of the first tank were related to land use, fault number, basin area, and reference slope length, those of second and third tanks to the unconsolidated and consolidated deposit, and those of fourth tank to the area ratio of the dam lake. Such findings will contribute to solely basin information based determination of tank model coefficients.
