Abstract
Magnetic and magneto-optical properties were investigated for Mn-Sb-Pt films with the concentration range of 38 at% < Mn < 59 at%, 29 at% < Sb < 56 at%, 0 at% < Pt < 26 at% fabricated by RF sputtering. Mn-Sb-Pt films with the concentration of 50 at%Mn, 44 at% Sb and 6 at% Pt annealed at 300°C show giant Kerr rotation angle of more than 1.0° at short wavelength of λ = 500 nm. From the results of structural analysis and of θk spectrum, it was found that the giant θk observed in present experiment arises from the NiAs type MnSb compound including Pt atom.
