Abstract

Pulses as short as 72 fs are generated from a single jet, cavity dumped, synchronously pumped dye laser. The laser has a linear cavity configuration with a group velocity dispersion controller which consists of two pairs of prisms. A peak power of 120 kW is obtained at a repetition rate of 3.8 MHz.
